Timber spikes are specifically designed to fasten two or more wooden members together. They feature semi-cone pointed, thread-formed (fetter drive) threads that allow them to be driven directly into timber like a nail, significantly speeding up installation.
The head of a timber spike is large and low-profile, providing a wide bearing surface that prevents the spike from pulling into the wood. Fins or lugs at the base of the head bite into the timber to prevent rotation once installed. 7EBB also supplies timber bolts, which are manufactured with a national coarse thread for reliable performance in wood applications.
Manufacturing
7EBB manufactures top-quality timber spikes in diameters ranging from 1/2″ to 1-1/2″, meeting most ASTM, AASHTO, and SAE specifications. We also accommodate special requests for custom heading styles, thread types, and finishes to meet specific project requirements.
Standard Thread Length
The minimum thread length shall be equal to half the nominal spike length plus 1/2″.
